 Medium-term financing is the period of short and long-term financing. Depending on this medium term finances are managed. Medium-term financing tenure is more than 1 year but between 5 and 7 years. According to E.F. Brigham, "any business debt collected over more than one year is called medium-term debt." According to James C. Van. Horne, generally, 1-5 years of financing is called medium-term financing.

Medium-term financing is an interim financing arrangement. Every organization needs such financing. Various features of medium-term financing are discussed below:

1. Amount of Table: The amount of funding for medium-term financing tends to be low. The main sources of financing are commercial banks and insurance companies. Such institutions usually do not lend large sums of money.

2. Tenure of financing: Medium-term financing tenure is a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 5-7 years. In some cases, more than one but up to 10 years is considered medium term.

3. Borrower: Small and medium enterprises take medium-term
financing. Due to the problems of large institutions and capital markets, this financing adopts different strategies.

4. Source: Medium-term financing is raised from sources such as commercial banks, insurance companies, development banks, leasing companies, and various investment institutions.

5. Purpose of taking a loan: Due to the unfavorable environment for long-term financing medium-term loans are taken for alternative financing purposes in most cases.

Discussing various factors, it can be seen that medium-term financing is comparatively more advantageous. On the other hand, a review of different perspectives shows that medium-term financing also has its disadvantages. The disadvantagesages of financing are discussed below:

1. Disadvantages of long-term financing: Long-term planning is impossible with medium-term financing. This financing is to be paid in installments. As a result, long-term planning is risky.

2. Collateral :
Medium-term loans are mostly secured. As a result, complications may arise in selling, transferring, or relocating the property if necessary.
